Study on the effects of Acupuncture , Moxibustion and Aqua - acupuncture with Gentianae macrophyllae Radix Extract Solution upon the Adjuvant Arthritis in Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
This experiment was performed in order to study the effects of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Aqua-acupuncture with Gentianae macrophyllae Radix extract solution on the Adjuvant Arthritis in rats.
Experimental group were devided into 4 groups. Control group, Acupuncture group(A-H), Moxibustion group(M-H), Aqua-acupuncture group with Gentianae macrophyllae Radix(Aa-H). Hyeon jong (G_(39)) was taken for this experiment.
The results were as follows:
1. The paw edema was reduced with the statistical significance in A-H group on the 22th. 25th, 27th and 29th day, in M-H group on the 27th and 29th day and in Aa-H group on the 25th, 27th and 29th day as compared with the control group.
2. The analgesic action was increased with the statistical significance in A-H group and M-H group. However Aa-H group did not show significant increase.
3. In the diuretic ation, the urine volume was increased with the statistical significance in M-H group and Aa-H group. However A-H group did not show significant increase.
4. The number of serum leucocytes were induced with the statistical significance in A-H group, M-H group and Aa-H group. Especially, Aa-H group shows more significant increase than the other groups.
According to the above results, it is concluded that the Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Aqua-acupuncture with Gentianae macrophyllae Radix extract solution at the locus of Hyeon-jong showed the treatment effect on the Adjuvant Arthritis in rats. Therefore, it is suggested that further deep studies and researches for proper utilization be needed.
